Job summary

The Salvation Army Grand Rapids Kroc Center is seeking a Membership Department Supervisor to oversee the welcome desk and building leads. The role is a front-facing, part-time position (~20 hours/week) with Manager on Duty responsibilities in weekday afternoons and occasional coverage as needed.

You will recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensure cash handling procedures, and maintain membership data accuracy in our system while delivering radical hospitality to guests.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years prior experience supervising and managing staff.
• Experience with cash handling, POS and credit card transactions.
• English reading/writing; Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Welcome Desk and Building Leads; supervise staff and daily operations.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate Welcome Desk Leads/Attendants.
• Ensure cash handling procedures and balance daily income with AP.
• Provide Manager on Duty coverage and maintain guest relations and hospitality.
• Maintain membership data accuracy in Membership software.
• Coordinate kiosk/POS updates; ensure SOP-compliant transactions.
• Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Enforce safety, policies, and disciplinary actions as needed.
