Job summary

Experimental Aircraft Association Inc. is seeking a customer-service oriented professional to assist members and strengthen aviation participation. You will connect with members personally, answer questions, and support our mission through exceptional service.

You will collaborate across departments, train staff on projects, and stay current with EAA programs and events, including AirVenture, to help deliver memorable experiences at the museum and membership table.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field; experience could be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Handle general inquiries beyond program specialty as needed.
  • Stay updated on EAA programs and events.
  • Assist in museum store reception and membership table during events.
  • Support high-volume member areas during AirVenture.

Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for serving EAA members with exceptional customer service, making a personal connection with our members and supporting our mission to grow participation in aviation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills via phone, email, or in person to answer any front-line questions that a member may ask.
  • Displays an eagerness to use their aviation knowledge to go above and beyond expectations to provide outstanding, knowledgeable, and memorable service to our members by investigating the concern, responding attentively, and identifying appropriate resources if additional information is required.
  • Serves as a liaison cross-functionally to provide training, updates, and support on special projects within specific departments.
  • Continue expanding expertise to handle general customer inquiries and service outside of their program specialty as assigned or needed.
  • Enhances job knowledge by attending informational meetings, staying up to date on EAA program offerings, and attending program functions (e.g. SportAir workshops, B-17 flight)
  • Maintain flexibility by occasionally greeting visitors in reception at the museum store, and occasionally working the membership table during a museum
  • Responsible for taking on additional special projects as assigned
  • Typically supports the Member Center and high-volume member areas during AirVenture.
  • Embraces and supports the EAA mission and performs safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an aviation or other area of relevance to the organization, i.e., marketing, business, safety, etc.. A combination of education and relevant related experience could also be considered.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and prioritize time effectively.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in serving members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including ability to research using the internet.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pilot Certification is preferred. An interest in learning about aviation is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
