Job description

Ragan Communications is seeking a driven and consultative Membership Sales Executive to join our growing team. This is a pure sales role focused on hunting, prospecting, and closing new business, specifically selling high-value executive memberships for Ragan’s Communications Leadership Council.

We’re looking for an individual contributor—someone who thrives on closing deals and building relationships with senior-level executives. If you’re a skilled communicator with a proven record of B2B success and a track record of consistently closing $200,000+ in new sales each month, and love selling more than managing, this is the role for you.

Our Communications Leadership Council is a premier membership community for senior-level communicators at top brands.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Drive new business by identifying, engaging, and closing membership opportunities.
  2. Sell directly to senior decision-makers at major brands across industries.
  3. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualifying through closing.
  4. Use CRM tools to maintain accurate tracking, reporting, and pipeline management.
  5. Collaborate with marketing to leverage campaigns and lead generation efforts.
  6. Attend industry conferences and events to build relationships and generate new leads.
  7. Maintain in-depth knowledge of Ragan’s leadership offerings and value proposition.

Who You Are:

  1. A closer with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets (preferably $200k+ in new monthly business).
  2. Confident engaging with C-level executives and tailoring pitches to their priorities.
  3. Comfortable in a consultative sales environment, especially in media, membership, SaaS, or B2B services.
  4. Self-motivated, accountable, and energized by building a book of business.
  5. Adept at using CRM software, virtual meeting tools, and managing a remote sales process.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying value with clarity and confidence.

Qualifications:

  1. 5-7 years of professional B2B sales experience.
  2. Experience selling to senior executives in a consultative capacity.
  3. Remote role (with optional hybrid/in-office at our Chicago HQ).
