Job summary

National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) is seeking a Membership Coordinator to serve as a primary contact for current and prospective members, handling inquiries with professionalism and directing calls to other departments as needed.

The role supports student resources, school retention, and member onboarding while promoting an inclusive experience for all participants across the organization.

Qualifications

• Two or more years in customer service and/or program management.
• Experience with speech and debate activities as a student or coach.
• Professional and courteous demeanor; strong written and verbal skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Microsoft Word; adaptability to new tools.

Responsibilities

• Answers and triages phone calls and emails to provide customer service.
• Oversees NSDA Student Leadership Council and manages onboarding.
• Coordinates development of instructional speech resources with contractors.
• Supports new member orientation and school onboarding activities.
• Assists outreach to coaches and administrators to boost retention.
• Attends the National Tournament in June to support tournament services.
