Job summary

National Speech & Debate Association seeks a Membership Coordinator to act as a primary contact for members and inquiries, guiding callers with courtesy and directing to appropriate departments.

The role supports student resources, school retention, and onboarding while maintaining thorough knowledge of membership processes to foster an inclusive experience for all.

It reports to the Senior Director of Membership and requires strong communication, organization, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in a customer service and/or program management role.
• Experience with speech and debate activities a plus.
• Demonstrates professional and courteous demeanor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Able to learn multiple software applications used by staff (Asana, ZenDesk, Dialpad, Slack).
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Answers and triages phone calls and emails for members and Tabroom.com users.
• Oversees NSDA Student Leadership Council and onboarding of student members.
• Coordinates development of instructional resources with external contractors.
• Supports new member onboarding and coach offboarding.
• Assists with school retention and recruitment outreach to coaches and administrators.
• Attends the National Tournament in June for tournament customer service and related duties.
