Job summary

The Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting/The Maine Monitor is seeking a Membership Coordinator to grow and sustain our membership program. You’ll work with the Development Director to cultivate donor relationships, plan campaigns, and manage membership systems to expand support for Maine’s nonprofit newsroom.

This exempt role requires occasional in-person work at the Augusta office while allowing remote work within Maine.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in nonprofit fundraising, membership program management, or donor engagement.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Attention to detail in data management and donor communications.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with potential and existing members about giving opportunities.
• Plan and execute member engagement activities (in person and virtual).
• Support recurring donors with management of their gifts.
• Set and drive membership goals with the Development Director.
• Fulfill membership benefits (quarterly zooms, newsletters, merch, recognition).
• Organize annual giving statements and coordinate fundraising appeals.
• Analyze fundraising results and trends; report to leadership.
• Design social media engagement for fundraising with the outreach unit.
