Job summary

Urban Land Institute is seeking a diligent Member Customer Service Associate to maintain accurate member records and ensure smooth membership transactions. You will handle memberships, invoices, and data quality while collaborating with district councils, the Contact Center, and colleagues overseas.

In this hybrid role based in Washington, DC, you will process registrations for events, support public agencies and universities, and assist with escalations.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in membership, account services, billing, or operations support with database work.
• Proficiency updating/troubleshooting records in a CRM/AMS (Salesforce, HubSpot, NetFORUM, Nimble AMS, Fonteva, or Personify).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to see tasks through to completion.
• Clear, professional writing skills for email and documentation.
• Proficient use of SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel (sorting, filters, simple formulas).
• Collaborative, team-first attitude and willingness to ask questions when unclear.
• Ability to travel 2–4 times a year and work extended hours on-site at events.

Responsibilities

• Process memberships, renewals, updates, and cancellations in the CRM/AMS.
• Manage invoices, payments, and receipts; track overdue balances.
• Assist with escalations from the Contact Center and train agents.
• Maintain data quality; run monthly renewal and AR checks; report system errors.
