Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Welcome Center Attendant in Raleigh for part-time coverage. You'll handle memberships, registrations, and basic financial transactions at the Welcome Center, with mornings and evenings available across a seven-day schedule.

Under supervision, you will deliver courteous service, manage inquiries, and support daily branch operations to ensure a positive member experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred with 1-2 years experience in sales or administrative environments.
• Professional, genuine, nurturing, welcoming and friendly disposition to relate well to customers.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook; basic financial principles.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the flow of the Welcome Center to ensure all members are being served in a quality manner.
• Builds positive relationships with members by serving their needs and concerns; provide excellent customer service.
• Use membership database software to complete sales orders and necessary transactions.
• Explain program offerings, pricing, policies and registration methods to complete a customer transaction.
• Aware of financial assistance offerings; handle applications and transactions confidentially.
• Accountable for revenue generated during each shift, including batch reconciliation.
• Work closely with Administrative and Association staff to ensure Welcome Center efficiency.
• Attend meetings and trainings to maintain and increase knowledge.
• Provide tours to prospective members and follow branch protocols for leads.
• Support supervisor with other duties and maintain clear communication.
