Job summary

Whitefish Credit Union in Thompson Falls, MT seeks a reliable Teller to be the first point of contact for Members needing withdrawals, deposits and payments. You will balance cash drawers, verify identities and support loan and account services.

You will build positive relationships with Members, handle everyday transactions, and assist management as needed. The role requires basic math skills, strong communication, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6-12 months professional customer service experience preferred.
• 6-12 months professional banking or credit union experience preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone with all internal and external stakeholders. Courtesy and tact are essential.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize day-to-day responsibilities with attention to detail and timeliness.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without accommodation.
• Competent with Microsoft Office; ability and willingness to work with a variety of office equipment and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Create positive and proactive relationships with all Members.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at ends of shifts, and calculate daily transactions using computers, calculators, or adding machines.
• Verify Member’s identity before providing information or performing transactions; update Member information as needed.
• Assist Vault Teller by counting money from bank vault, to ensure cash balances stated by the Vault Teller are correct.
• Support all other departments as needed (I.E., processing EFT wires, delivering loan paperwork to the proper department).
