Job summary

San Diego County Credit Union is seeking a Financial Service Representative I to assist members with opening accounts, securing loans, and deepening relationships through tailored Credit Union products and services. The role emphasizes accurate information, quality service, and adherence to Credit Union policies.

You will interview members to assess needs, offer solutions, record interactions, and support AML/BSA compliance while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of banking experience or 2 years of related finance experience, or 6 months SDCCU member-facing work.
• Ability to identify and promote products and services to meet members’ financial needs.
• General knowledge of Credit Union or financial institution loan policies and procedures preferred.
• Demonstrated professional human relations, communication and organizational skills.
• College level math and financial calculation skills.
• Basic level computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Interview members and potential members to determine financial needs and aid in selecting appropriate products and services.
• Identify and offer products and services to meet financial needs and refer to an appropriate representative. Participate in campaigns and member outreach.
• Accurately record and track all member interactions, referrals and sales, following policy and procedure.
• Provide exceptional service and resolve member inquiries by phone and in person.
• Prepare documentation for new accounts, loans and card issuance; ensure adherence to legal requirements and policies.
• Ensure loan files are complete with thorough comments and recommendations to aid in loan decisions.
• Relay loan decisions and terms to members with financial counsel and alternatives as needed.
• Close loans timely through follow-up on approvals and documents.
• Maintain operational integrity via audits of loan and new account files.
• Participate in AML/BSA compliance training and adhere to policy including CTR requirements.
