Wakefield is an applied research lab dedicated to AI-native security services. We build security agents and publish how they work, with open benchmarking and data for verification.

Our role centers on owning the Wakefield console end to end—covering findings, their proofs, fixes, scans, chat, and the MCP server to integrate Wakefield into the tools teams already use.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent depth from open source or own projects
• Time at a fast-growing startup
• Built products from scratch and shipped them to real users
• Owned polished features end to end, from backend to UI
• Strong product and design judgment: what to cut, polish, ship
• Strong full-stack fundamentals: Python, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, debugging unfamiliar code
• You use coding agents every day and still understand every line you ship
• You build and tinker for fun because you genuinely care about how products are made and used

Responsibilities

• Own the Wakefield console end to end, from schema to UI
• Add an application and a test login for each role, and follow the agents while they work
• Fixes: patches with a confidence level, PRs opened by a person, and retests that confirm the fix
• Chat and the MCP server, so people can ask Wakefield what to fix first from wherever they work
• Integrations with GitHub, Jira, Linear, Slack and the rest
• Reports a CISO can hand to a board or an auditor

Job description

We find and fix every vulnerability in our customers' applications. When a new AI model is released, we run it against their applications before attackers do, and close what it finds.

About Wakefield

Wakefield is an applied research lab working on AI-native security services. We build security agents and publish how they work. Our methods, benchmark and raw data are public so anyone can check them.

• Source code optional: blackbox agents sign in as every role and test the running app. Whitebox agents read the code on every pull request.

• If Wakefield can't prove it, the customer never sees it: agents replay each finding in a real browser and record it. Then Wakefield writes the fix, ready to open as a pull request, and retests it. We have SLAs for zero false positives.

• One service that replaces DAST, SAST, SCA, SBOM, and the tests companies run in-house or buy in.

The role

Our customers range from security engineers to leaders who have never read an HTTP request. They need to trust what an agent found, see the proof, and get it fixed. You'll own the Wakefield console end to end, from schema to UI: findings and their proof, fixes, scans, chat, and the integrations and MCP server that bring Wakefield into the tools people already use.
