Tractorbeam AI, Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to design and build core platform systems from the ground up, shipping production-grade infrastructure that runs AI on real customer data and workflows.

You'll own large pieces of the system from design to production, work directly with the founders, and help raise the engineering bar with testing, observability, and code review.

Logistics: in office at 215 N Peoria, Chicago; competitive salary and equity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years shipping production software.
• Experience with TypeScript or Python.
• Built data systems, developer platforms, or infrastructure.
• Experience with LLMs beyond demos.

Responsibilities

Members of Technical Staff build the Tractorbeam platform. The work sits where AI meets the systems companies already run on: their data, their workflows, and their constraints. Most of it hasn't been built before. You'll own large pieces of the system from design to production and work directly with the founders.

You might be a fit if you

• Have 2+ years shipping production software
• Are strong in TypeScript or Python
• Have built data systems, developer platforms, or infrastructure
• Have built with LLMs past the demo stage
• Care about craft and own what you ship
• Bonus: early-stage startup experience
