USC Credit Union is seeking an experienced Consumer Lending Specialist to originate loans for members while building profitable financial relationships and delivering outstanding service. You will analyze member data to offer customized lending solutions, maintain compliance, and meet performance standards.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in customer service or financial services, with 3+ years preferred, and are proficient in Excel, Google Suite, and Slack.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1+ year of customer service, sales, retail banking, or financial services experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Consumer lending knowledge and strong communication, relationship-building, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Slack, and similar tools.
• Understand key banking regulations including BSA, Regulation E, and GLBA.

Responsibilities

• Assists members with submission of credit card and unsecured loan applications.
• Interviews loan applicants.
• Describes application review process and provides recommendations.
• Discusses financing terms, rates, and payment amounts.
• Provides information on insurance programs and loan coverage options.
• Assists customers in submitting applications for memberships and deposit products.
• Reviews membership applications and consumer information from reporting agencies.
• Funds consumer loans per guidelines.
• Explores other lending alternatives with members as appropriate.
• Counsels on adverse action reasons and opportunities to improve eligibility.
• Deepens member relationships and supports sales goals with appropriate products.
