Job summary

CSE Federal Credit Union is looking for a Collector to help members resolve delinquent accounts while protecting the credit union's assets. You will contact members, assess situations, and propose repayment options with empathy and professionalism.

You will collaborate with Lending and Member Services, document activities, and maintain thorough records in a compliant environment. This role emphasizes accuracy and confidentiality while delivering positive member outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in collections, banking, or financial institutions preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Must be bondable.

Responsibilities

• Manage delinquent loan, credit card, line of credit, and negative share accounts.
• Contact members regarding past-due accounts through inbound and outbound calls.
• Work with members to understand their situations and identify appropriate repayment solutions.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and assist with available workout options when appropriate.
• Document collection activity accurately and maintain detailed account records.
• Follow up on payment commitments and elevate accounts when necessary.
• Collaborate with Lending, Member Services, and other departments to resolve member concerns.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
