Job summary

The role requires attention to detail in a process-driven environment, with repossession, judgment, and garnishment experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of current federal and state rules and regulations regarding credit and collection activities.
• Minimum of 1 year knowledge of effective collection experience including repossession, judgment, and garnishment, preferably in a credit union or retail bank.
• Experience working in a process-oriented environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Contact daily assigned collection routes and work to completion.
• Document relationships and resolutions using quality collection principles.
• Develop and implement strategies to resolve past due balances.
• Research and skip trace past due members to make contact.
• Adhere to federal and state credit and collection laws.
• Identify delinquent accounts and prioritize actions to reduce losses.
• Mail legal documents and notices in compliance with regulations.
• Audit repossession documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor bankruptcy payments and modify per MCU policy.
• Coordinate with regional, district and branch managers on collection activities.
• Represent MCU in litigation related to collection activities.
