Job summary

Dow Credit Union is seeking a Consumer Loan Officer to help members identify lending needs and guide them through the loan process. You will evaluate applications, determine creditworthiness, and manage the loan pipeline in a cooperative, value-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of consumer lending or related experience.
• Strong understanding of loan processing, regulations, and member service.
• Ability to make confident credit decisions and handle confidential information professionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in identifying personal lending needs and present the best loan options.
• Take applications online and in person, evaluate creditworthiness, and make sound credit decisions.
• Create loans within established authority while adhering to lending policies.
• Counsel members on credit issues and loan products.
• Maintain accurate documentation and manage the loan pipeline.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners (dealers, insurers, Visa, etc.).
• Actively cross-sell additional credit union services.
