Job summary

The Plaistow YMCA is seeking a Member Engagement Director to lead membership growth, engagement strategies, and exceptional member experiences. This role is a frontline leadership position on the YMCA leadership team, dedicated to strengthening relationships with members, families, staff, and community partners.

You will develop outreach plans, manage the Welcome Center team, drive recruitment and retention, and use data to inform decisions that boost satisfaction and community impact.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience in membership management, recruitment, and retention.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in membership software systems and data management.
• Analytical mindset to interpret data and drive strategic decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, inclusive member environment and experiences.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
• Plan and support member events and engagement opportunities.
• Lead, train, and support the Welcome Center team with coaching.
• Monitor membership trends and generate reports to guide decisions.
