Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Member Engagement Representative to welcome members, drive onboarding, and connect individuals to programs that fit their goals. You will guide tours, promote memberships, and help achieve enrollment and retention targets with a service-driven approach.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, sales experience, and comfort working with diverse communities in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of sales, customer service, or relationship management experience preferred.
• Proficiency with computer systems; CRM or membership management software a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships quickly.
• Comfortable engaging with diverse individuals, families, and communities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure procedures for member and guest access control are followed; check-in per policy.
• Actively engage with members with friendly, helpful, solution-oriented support.
• Support new members through onboarding; help them feel welcomed and informed.
• Connect members to YMCA programs and services aligned to goals.
• Conduct cause-driven tours of facilities, programs, and community impact.
• Promote membership sales by understanding needs and communicating value.
• Meet sales metrics for membership acquisition and retention.
• Attend trainings; stay current with certifications and policies.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Member Engagement Coordinator/Supervisor.
• Handle sensitive member information per policies and handbook.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress standards.
• Represent the Y’s mission with positive conduct and service standards.
• Report suspicious or policy-violating behaviors.
• Adhere to child abuse risk management responsibilities.
• Ensure proper sign-in/sign-out; restrict access to authorized adults.
