Job summary

NACD is seeking an Engagement Associate on the Membership Team to support corporate boards and leaders through onboarding, adoption, engagement, and renewal processes. You will partner with Account Executives, Advisors, Coordinators, and cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless member experience, identify risks, and strengthen relationships.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree is required.
• Three years of experience supporting client success, account management, sales, or fundraising; professional services preferred.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with senior executives and corporate directors.
• Must be solutions-oriented and comfortable with problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Ability to socialize NACD’s value proposition and resources.
• Experience organizing large customer/member segments to deliver value.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow-through with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
• CRM/Salesforce experience is preferred; public speaking is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support new member onboarding by coordinating preparation and ensuring smooth handoffs across teams.
• Monitor member engagement and usage patterns to identify early signs of risk and contribute to account health assessments.
• Coordinate planning for member calls and presentations, including scheduling, preparation, and follow-up activities.
• Maintain consistent communication with members by sharing relevant programs, events, and updates, and capture key account changes.
• Identify upsell opportunities within defined member segments across products, focusing on Directorship Certification sales.
• Deliver high-quality member support and document interactions to ensure a great experience.
• Collaborate with internal partners to drive member value and growth.
