Job summary

The Member Engagement Specialist is a part-time, non-exempt role at YMCA of the Triangle Area in Sanford, NC. It focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere, driving membership sales, and connecting members to programs that reflect the Y's mission. You will support staff and supervise facility operations per policy and board expectations.

Schedule: Days / Times needed. Proficiency with Personify Go/360 is advantageous, with weekend and evening availability. Multilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 1-2 years experience in Customer Service and/or Sales.
• Professional in demeanor, genuine, nurturing, welcoming, courteous and relate well to customers.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to understand customer relationship platforms.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Must obtain YMCA CPR/First Aid and Administering Emergency Oxygen certifications within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
• Builds positive relationships with members by serving needs and concerns and providing excellent customer service.
• Responsible for Tours, Sales, Y Connects, 8 Weeks to a New You and all other Membership and Fitness initiatives.
• Serves as a member advocate and concierge while on duty, focusing on facilitating small group connections.
• Promotes volunteerism as part of the member experience.
• Supports Welcome Center, Access desks, Gym and Wellness Floor to ensure members are served well.
• Assists in hiring, coaching, training, and motivating desk staff.
• Collaborates with Directors on member engagement improvements based on feedback.
