Job summary

1199C Benefit and Pension Fund seeks a Customer Service Representative to support the Benefit Funds department with benefit and disability inquiries. You will handle calls, emails and faxes, gather forms, and route to appropriate teams for processing.

The role requires 2-3 years’ experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills to assist members and pensioners effectively.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 2-3 years’ experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent organizational, written, time management and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to incoming calls, emails, and faxes regarding member benefits and disability inquiries.
• Compiles applicable forms from members and forwards to appropriate parties for processing.
• Documents procedures and routines of disability in the appropriate system.
• Service walk-in members.
• Outreaches to employers as needed for assistance with claims and member benefits.
• Maintains an alphabetical listing of assigned members to ensure all documents are received and handled timely for disability purposes.
• Assist Pensioners regarding medical benefits.
• Provide telephone coverage for receptionist as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
