Job summary

CMC is seeking an entry-level operator in Seguin, Texas. You will train across melt shop areas, read and apply manuals, and operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and cranes. You’ll work within a safety-focused team and contribute to production and efficiency goals.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in heavy industrial operations, are able to work a 12-hour shift including overtime and weekends, and can lift up to 50 lbs. High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year field experience in heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing.
• Ability to work a 12 hour shift, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long durations.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Train in all areas of the Melt Shop including Furnace, Ladle Furnace, Casting Machine, and Refractories.
• Read, interpret, and utilize manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Operate mobile equipment such as Forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in CMC Safety Programs.
• Maintain daily housekeeping and understand start-up/shutdown procedures.
