Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator in Seguin, TX. You will train in all areas of the Yard Department, operating forklifts, in-plant trucks, rail car movers and loaders, and you’ll help prepare trailers, manage scrap, and support melt shop needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year field experience in heavy industrial operations or manufacturing preferred.
• Must be able to work a 12 hour shift including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance and work completion.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout shift.
• Must read, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, in-plant trucks, rail car movers and loaders.
• Prepare trailers for outbound deliveries by removing side boards.
• Cut up scrap, unload tonnage, and monitor melt shop scrap supplies.
• Inspect scrap for grade and quality and assist in safety programs.
• Follow startup/shutdown and emergency procedures.
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
