Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking operators for mobile equipment including loaders, forklifts, and related machinery at our Texas facility. The role involves transporting materials, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance while supporting Melt Shop operations.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and math skills required.
• Read, write and speak in English.
• 1-3 years mobile equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment including loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, and flatbed trucks to lift and transport materials.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on vehicles and mobile equipment, including fueling, cleaning, and checking fluids.
• Ensure loads are within safe load capacity of each piece of equipment.
• Maintain material in feed hoppers or bins at adequate level.
• Communicate with Melt Shop Team and AMT operations to monitor alloy levels.
• Assist with crusher operations and cleaning as needed.
• Visually inspect materials for non-conformities.
