Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD is seeking an experienced Melt Shop Supervisor to lead daily operations in a fast-paced melt shop environment. You will oversee shift supervisors and hourly staff, drive safety programs, and ensure production targets are met with a focus on quality and efficiency.

The role requires strong budgeting skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with maintenance and QC teams. A Bachelor's degree and OSHA knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a Melt Shop environment.
• Strong management skills with the ability to oversee shift supervisors and hourly employees in a non-union setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to communicate up and across the business.
• People oriented, a team builder who collaborates with maintenance.
• Ability to create and oversee budgets and monthly spending.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements and general melting safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and uphold the CMC safety culture.
• Meet cost and tonnage projections in the business plan.
• Develop short- and long-term production goals and capital requirements.
• Manage, schedule, and direct day-to-day operations of the EAF.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across the melt shop.
• Oversee production to ensure quality and assist QC in root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with supervisors to maintain equipment and efficient melt shop operations.
• Develop and oversee training plans and succession for all operational roles.
• Oversee melt shop inventories, reduce obsolete items, and improve turnover.
