Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a Melt Shop Maintenance Supervisor in Charlotte, NC. The role oversees maintenance in the Melt Shop, coordinating with the Maintenance Routine Facilitator to optimize results and reliability.

The candidate should have a four-year engineering-related degree or equivalent experience, with strong PLC/CMMS knowledge and leadership capabilities to guide teams and drive continuous improvement across operations.

Qualifications

Four year college degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field preferred; 8+ years of applicable experience may substitute the degree.
Mechanical Engineering preferred.
2+ years in industrial/manufacturing with maintenance/reliability exposure.
Basic knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting on PLCs, drives and motors.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of industrial manufacturing methods with heavy machinery.
Ability to train and guide people; strong presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
People management skills are a must.
Experience with SAP or CMMS preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure routine maintenance efforts are followed and improvement opportunities are identified.
Coordinate standardization administration for processes and control standards.
Ensure standardization of processes within the area of responsibility.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance and safety processes.
Develop and oversee the budget for the assigned area.
