Rocky Mountain Steel Mills in Pueblo, CO, is seeking an Area Manager - Melt Shop to lead safe, efficient EAF, LRF and VTD operations. You will supervise melt shop supervisors and bargaining unit staff, drive production targets, metallurgical quality, and cost objectives while partnering with maintenance and technical teams to improve equipment reliability.

This role emphasizes safety, lean initiatives, labor relations, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; bachelor’s preferred in engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing, steel preferred.
• 5+ years of melt shop operations experience; union environment preferred.

Responsabilités

• Direct and coordinate melt shop operations (EAF, LRF, VTD) to meet schedules and specs.
• Promote safety-first culture; ensure compliance with policies and environmental regulations.
• Ensure metallurgical quality and process control; review test results with internal labs.
• Supervise bargaining unit employees and administer union agreements.
• Lead capital projects and Operational improvements; drive Lean initiatives.
