Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Scottsdale, AZ. You will assist in the analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for vertical buildings, collaborating with experienced engineers and consultants to deliver real project impact.

The internship is paid, mentored, and designed to provide hands-on experience across disciplines, with exposure to high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030 standards.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong interest in design consulting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to mechanical systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry.
• Research commercially available equipment for project applications.
• Help maintain project documentation, including notebooks and permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier partners.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring progress.
