Job summary

Fleet Data Centers designs, builds and operates mega-scale data center campuses. The Senior Principal Data Center Design Engineer acts as the technical authority behind development, implementation, and scaling of next-generation campuses, leading cross-functional teams across electrical, mechanical, structural, and networking to deliver high-density, resilient facilities globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or a related field; master’s/Ph.D. preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with 8+ years in hyperscale data center architecture and integration.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, multi-site data center projects.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex engineering concepts into clear design blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Architect global data center designs and enforce engineering standards.
• Create and review complex site campus masterplans and high-density layouts.
• Lead cross-functional design teams across electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, and networking.
• Own engineering due diligence for site selection and regulatory variations.
• Collaborate with vendors and consultants to review equipment submittals and systems.
