Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to be based in Cornelia, GA. The program runs May through August 2027, full-time (40 hours per week), with housing stipend eligibility for qualifying candidates.

Eight vacancies are available, offering hands-on experience in adhesives, resins, extrusion, needle manufacturing, and more. You will work with engineers on problem solving, documentation practices, and continuous improvement projects, gaining exposure to real manufacturing

Qualifications

• Undergraduate freshman year completed and enrolled in a relevant STEM degree.
• Pursuing Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Plastics Engineering, or related fields.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• No Summer Internship or other employment that conflicts with the contract dates.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Experience with statistics software is preferred.
• Experience with CAD, Tableau, Power BI, and/or Minitab is preferred.
• Interest in Automation & Control Engineering: PLC/DCS, instrumentation, MES systems is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to prioritize tasks.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication and ability to work in diverse teams.
• Leadership and involvement in campus/community service is preferred.
• U.S. work authorization; CPT/OPT/STEM OPT considerations noted.

Responsibilities

• Participate in problem solving efforts by analysis and correction of chemical, electrical, and mechanical operating problems to maintain or improve existing site operations.
• Good documentation practices, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and documenting meeting minutes.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers and mentors to implement continuous improvement projects.
• Deliver end of semester presentations to site management and participate in J&J Credo volunteer activities across the site.
