Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Nursing Attendant to join the MedSurg Float Nights team. You will support the nursing staff by providing direct and indirect patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include patient admissions, rounds, hygiene, meals, vital signs, safety, and ensuring a safe environment. The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and clear communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification or minimum 6 months relevant patient-care experience.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA) required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist admissions, transfers, and discharges; orient patients to the hospital.
• Conduct routine patient rounds for comfort, safety, and needs.
• Assist with hygiene, meals, and basic activities of daily living.
• Prepare patients for procedures and transports as directed by the RN.
• Document measurements and report changes to the RN.
• Maintain care environment, equipment, and supply rooms per policy.
