Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Suffolk, NY, is seeking a Nurse Aide for Med Surg Float on a full-time days schedule. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will perform routine nursing tasks to support patient care, maintain clean rooms, and assist with room preparation for procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and BLS, with on-the-job de-escalation training. You will respond to call lights, assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training.
• De-escalation training provided on the job.
• Ability to read and write at elementary level to understand care plan.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic for weight, vitals, I&O.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Respond to call lights promptly and relay needs to nursing staff.
• Observe patient condition and report changes promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living: nourishment, ambulation, hygiene.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environment and organize service rooms.
