Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Litigation Associate in Tacoma, WA, focused on medical malpractice and civil defense. The role offers hybrid in-office and remote flexibility, with mentorship and exposure to sophisticated matters and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate has ~3+ years of litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and a willingness to develop within healthcare litigation. Prior medical malpractice is welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in Washington.
• Approximately three years of litigation experience preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Medical malpractice defense experience is not required but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Managing discovery and developing case strategy.
• Drafting motions, briefs, and other substantive pleadings.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Working with medical and other expert witnesses.
• Attending hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Preparing matters for trial.
• Communicating directly with clients.
• Working closely with experienced attorneys on complex cases.
