Job summary

Gateway Industrial Power, Incorporated in West Chicago, IL is seeking a Medium Duty Truck Technician to join our growing team. You will perform mechanical repairs on medium-duty diesel trucks and carry out preventative maintenance to keep vehicles running smoothly.

We value hands-on training, safety, and reliability, with benefits including health insurance, retirement matching, and a boot & tool allowance. Valid CDL preferred; 2+ years' experience encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Valid CDL driver's license with clean driving record (preferred).
• 2+ years' experience as a Truck Technician or similar position (preferred).
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair medium-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on medium-duty diesel trucks.
• Perform all levels of Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure they are properly working.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using testing equipment such as laptop computers, motor analyzers, temperature and pressure gauges.
• Identify warranty repairs and document properly on the repair order.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Other duties as assigned.

GTR recently purchased PTR in West Chicago and we are looking to add additional mechanics to our team!

As a well-know Carrier Refrigeration, Volvo, and Hino, TICO and now Isuzu dealership, we have 16 locations throughout Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and Tennessee.

Job Duties:

• Perform mechanical repairs on medium-duty diesel trucks
