Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within five years of job entry date.
• Specialized certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interview, reviews chart, assesses health status across multiple systems.
• Communicates and documents patient health status and plan of care; coordinates with physicians and care team.
• Maintains documentation of treatments, plans of care, and discharge instructions.
• Supervises and directs the patient care unit team; delegates activities as appropriate.
• Ensures safety precautions and emergency readiness are maintained on the unit.
