Job summary

Northwell Career Site is seeking a registered nurse to perform age-specific nursing care using the nursing process, coordinating with physicians and the health team to deliver safe and effective treatment. Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive patient interviews, explains policies and procedures, reviews charts, and assesses physiological and psychosocial health to plan care.
• Identifies cultural/ethnic needs to reduce anxiety and ensure patient satisfaction; documents psychosocial status and care plan of support services.
• Develops individualized care plans, prioritizes activities, coordinates supplies and medications, and documents plan of care across the care team.
• Administers prescribed treatments, uses clinical judgment, ensures safety, and provides emotional support to patients and families.
• Monitors treatment effectiveness, collaborates with physicians, and participates in discharge planning and referrals.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
