Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Technician to administer medications and support resident care on a shift-by-shift basis. You will follow MAR documentation, maintain medication carts, and communicate with the Charge Nurse about residents’ responses and any required follow-up.

Responsibilities include accurate reporting, completing rounds with staff, and providing safe, compassionate care while adhering to facility policies and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state.
• Certification as a Medication Technician in the state.
• Insulin certification required, or willing to obtain within six months.
• CPR certification, or willing to obtain within six months.
• Recent long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as documented in the MAR and follows proper technique.
• Completes medication pass safely within the allotted time frame 100% of the time.
• Documents appropriately all medications passed and reports to Charge Nurse.
• Maintains medication carts, supplies, and ensures cart is locked, stocked, and clean.
• Monitors residents’ responses to medications and reports to Charge Nurse.
• Gives report to charge nurse at end of shift and completes walking rounds with incoming/outgoing shifts.
