Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living in the Jefferson City area seeks a Certified Medication Technician to assist in administering medications as ordered by the attending physician, under nursing supervision and the Director of Nursing Services.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Licensed Medication Tech with state-approved training and any necessary examination(s).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures to determine medication errors and prevention.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, reports, etc., and submit as required.
• Ensure documentation of drug receipt error includes a written report with observer signature.
• Accurately measure, record, and report residents' vital signs.
• Notify Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of any errors or reactions to medications.
• Follow medication card practices of the facility.
• Record orders in the resident’s clinical record (type, route, dosage, frequency, strength).
