Salary: $17.00 - $19.50 / hour

Overview

Elderwood is in growth mode and currently looking for a Medication Technician to join our team! This full-time or part-time role involves working all shifts, with weekend rotation required. Medication Technicians assist with residents' health and well-being by providing personal care and supporting self-administration of medication (excluding injections).

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring the five (5) rights are followed.
  • Manage storage and distribution of controlled substances, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
  • Respond promptly to resident requests and document care accurately.
  • Report changes in resident conditions to the Director of Nursing or licensed professionals.
  • Participate in shift reports and communicate resident needs effectively.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, following individual care plans.
  • Observe and report any changes in resident condition, maintaining confidentiality and respecting resident rights.
  • Attend required training and meetings, and support facility standards for safety and quality care.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Completion of a medication technician training program preferred within the last 12 months
  • Pass the Elderwood Medication Technician test
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in long-term care preferred

Skills include strong communication, attention to detail, empathy, and teamwork. Ability to assist with wheelchair operation is also required.
