Job summary

Clearwater Mayo Blvd, a premier luxury senior living community in Phoenix, seeks a full-time Medication Technician to administer medicines to residents per physician orders with superior service.

The role requires documenting care, coordinating with pharmacies and physicians, and maintaining confidential records while upholding safety and resident dignity in a fast-paced, people-first environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of work experience as a caregiver or Medication Technician.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
  • Active First Aid/CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations.
  • Must meet health requirements, including TB.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with their daily medications, treatments and resident care as assigned and within scope of practice, policy and procedures, and government regulations.
  • Observe, verify and document that medication is ingested or applied as directed.
  • Notify supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and document the reason(s) why.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, complete and confidential records on resident medication and care.
  • Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician(s) and verify dosages with physician prior to dispensing.
  • Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills – prepare medications for distribution up to 24 hours in advance.
  • Participate in and complete narcotic counts at the beginning and end of shift, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor(s) immediately.
  • Assist caregivers in the performance of their job duties and assume caregiver activities and responsibilities when needed.
  • Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining each resident’s self-respect, personal dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care is being given to residents.
  • Assist residents in daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities, and toileting.

The Medication Technician is responsible for documenting, delivering and administering medicines to residents as prescribed by physician(s) with superior customer service and in accordance with all policies, procedures, government regulators and guidelines.

  • Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, and clearing trays
  • Transport residents as necessary assisting them into and out of bed, wheelchairs, etc. following
  • all safety/lifting and transferring techniques – escorting them to/from meals, activities, or
  • other transportation needs as requested or assigned
Qualifications
