Job summary

Clearwater Beaverton, a premier luxury senior living community, is seeking a full-time Medication Technician. The role involves documenting, delivering and administering medicines to residents with superior service in compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily medications, maintaining confidential records, coordinating with pharmacies and physicians, and supporting caregivers as needed to ensure resident dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a Caregiver or Medication Technician.
• Active First Aid/CPR/BLS Certification required.
• Background clearances as required by government regulations.
• Must meet health requirements, including TB.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily medications, treatments and resident care as assigned.
• Observe, verify and document that medication is ingested or applied as directed.
• Notify supervisor if prescribed medication is not administered according to directions and document the reason(s).
• Maintain clear, accurate, complete and confidential records on resident medication and care.
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy and physician(s) and verifying dosages with physician prior to dispensing.
• Track all orders for medication changes and/or refills – prepare medications for distribution up to 24 hours in advance.
• Participate in narcotic counts at the beginning and end of shift, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor(s).
• Assist caregivers in the performance of their job duties and assume caregiver activities when needed.
• Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining each resident’s self-respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality.
• Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care is being given to their residents.
• Assist residents in daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, and mobility.
• Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, and clearing trays.
• Transport residents following safety/lifting and transferring techniques.

The Medication Technician is responsible for documenting, delivering and administering medicines to residents as prescribed by physician(s) with superior customer service and in accordance with all policies, procedures, government regulators and guidelines.

• Transport residents as necessary assisting them into and out of bed, wheelchairs, etc. following
• all safety/lifting and transferring techniques – escorting them to/from meals, activities, or
• other transportation needs as requested or assigned

Qualifications
