Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a dedicated individual for the Unit Medication Room, distributing medications from filled prescriptions. The role operates in the evening shift with a 4-on/2-off schedule and requires completion of training within 30 days of hire.

Preferred candidates include pharmacy technician certification and active Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Must complete the assigned training program within 30 days of hire.
  • Certification as a pharmacy technician and active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) or in process of registration via passing the national certification exam.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and administers patients' ordered and prescribed medications.
  • Support clinical activities in the health facility under the direction of the facility director and nurse management.
  • Participates in all required training related to the Correctional Medication Aide Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

This position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes patients’ medications from filled prescriptions.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Delivers and administers patients their ordered and prescribed medications.
  • Within the scope of the specific credential of the team member, will support clinical activities in the health facility under the direction of the facility director and nurse management.
  • Actively participates in all assigned training related to the Correctional Medication Aide Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
