We have openings for Correctional Medication Aides and/orCorrectional Medication Aide Trainees at both the Texas Departmentof Criminal Justice John Middleton Unit and the French M. RobertsonUnit, in Abilene, Texas. You are invited to join our medical teamsin providing healthcare services to individuals in thesecorrectional facilities.

We are hiring both certified and non-certified CorrectionalMedication Aides. We offer in-house certification training forthose that are interested, yet do not currently have experience ora certification.
Correctional Medication Aides are a critical part of our qualityhealthcare teams and will work under direct supervision of ourlicensed nursing staff. As one of our Correctional MedicationAides, you will safely distribute necessary medications toindividuals, monitor patients, and provide compassionatecare.
Robertson Unit Shifts
- Rotation Schedule, 3 Days On / 2 Days Off
- Days: 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Middleton Unit Shifts
- Weekly Rotation
- Days: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Major/Essential Functions- Coordinates with patients to deliver and administer medicationsas ordered and prescribed by providers.
- Follows compliance and departmental standards to ensurepatients’ safety is prioritized.
- Ensures physical control of medications is always withindepartment standards.
- Clearly, concisely, and timely documents activities inpatients’ health records and medication administrationsystems.
- Within the scope of the specific credentials of the teammember, the team member will support clinical activities in thehealth facility under the direction of the facility director andnurse management.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which arereasonably within the scope of the duties in the job classificationand/or position description.

Required QualificationsCorrectional Medication Aide : Graduation from an accreditedhigh school or GED equivalent and Emergency MedicalTechnician-Paramedic (EMT-P) with current credential from the TexasDepartment of State Health Services OR Successful completion of acertified medication aide training course and passage of Stateexam.
Correctional Medication Aide Trainee : HS diploma or GED. Asa condition of employment, must successfully complete theCorrectional Medication Aide training program, and subsequentlypass the certification examination.
