Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Medication Tech to supervise self-administered meds for Assisted Living residents, following federal/state regulations and company guidelines.

The role reports to the Wellness Director and requires assisting residents with daily living activities per their care plan, while maintaining safety, confidentiality, and effective communication across departments. Training and on-site supervision are provided to support quality care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; 0-3 months related experience or training.
  • Home Health Aide / Personal Care / Private Caregiver experience preferred.
  • Must be trainable and participate in onsite medication and caregiving training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise self-administered medication for Assisted Living residents in line with regulations.
  • Report changes in residents' health and document to Wellness Director.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and maintain communication with staff.
  • Provide educational meetings for residents and staff as requested.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and confidentiality of resident information.

Job description

Position Summary:
The Medication Tech is responsible for supervision of self-administered medication to Assisted Living
residents, following the guidelines provided by Senior Solutions Management Group and State Regulations. The Caregiver is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living as per their plan of care. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for supervision of self-administered medication for the AssistedLiving Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMGguidelines as directed by the Wellness Director.
  • Reports any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation to
    the Wellness Director.
  • Responds quickly to all emergencies.
  • Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members.
  • Provides educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by
    Supervisor.
  • Understands role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of
    accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working
    practices.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and
    co‑workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
  • Assist residents in Assisted Living with activities of daily living as determined by their individual plan of care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months
  • related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience.
  • Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid, Private Caregiver
  • Must be trainable and available for onsite training, medication training by RN Delegator
  • Must be trainable and available for onsite caregiving training.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and have transportation to and from work for scheduled shifts
  • Must have reliable transportation and child care.
  • Position also requires resident care when not assisting with medication administration
