Job summary

The Medication Specialist position at Socket.dev provides an extra layer of oversight to ensure safe medication practices within GRIT co-occurring residential programs. It involves support, training, and liaison work among nurses, prescribers, staff, and residents to promote recovery‑oriented care.

This role includes audits, med room management, Naloxone program oversight, and education on medication-related tasks, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule in a residential treatment setting.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass BSAS Medication Training.
• Ability to work first shift M-F with some flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent oral, written, computer and organizational skills.
• Adapt to changing program needs and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document weekly medication audits for all participants.
• Maintain the medication tracking binder and scan discharged residents.
• Monitor outgoing/incoming paperwork for external appointments.
• Oversee med room board, refills, pickups, and new orders verification.
• Provide oversight and training for staff on medication tasks.
• Keep the medication room clean, stocked, and organized.
• Access prescriber info before weekly appointments and manage MOS forms.
• Maintain Naloxone supply and provide training on overdose response quarterly.
• Conduct regular medication disposals per Nurse Manager timelines.
