Job summary

Northwest Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to support our residents under nursing and medical supervision. You will accurately record vitals and weights and administer medications according to physician orders, including eye and ear drops, with proper documentation.

The role also involves performing non-licensed tasks, monitoring for medication effects, and maintaining professional relationships with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• QMA certification and CNA certificate on file with Dept. of Health.
• Experience in long-term care setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient vital signs and weight.
• Administers and documents medications per physician orders (oral/topical/suppository; eye/ear drops).
• Complies with policies and HIPAA; follows fire safety and disaster drills.
• Performs non-licensed nurse tasks (hot/cold applications, vital signs, etc.).
• Observes and reports medication effects and adverse reactions.
• Takes vital signs prior to certain meds administration.
• Provides direct resident care and acts as CNA when not med-administering.
• Maintains courteous, professional relations with residents, visitors, and staff.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
