Job summary

Chateau Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide resident care under nursing and medical staff. You will administer medications per physician orders, monitor vitals, and support direct resident care, including CNA-type duties when not administering meds.

Qualifications

• QMA certificate must be in good standing on file with the appropriate Department of Health.
• Current CNA certificate required.
• One year experience in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records vital signs and weight.
• Administers medications per physician orders (oral, topical, suppository, eye/ear drops) and documents them.
• Maintains compliance with policies, HIPAA, safety plans, and drills; observes and reports medication effects.
• Performs non-licensed treatments and follows the procedure manual for standard precautions.
• Provides direct resident care and performs CNA duties when not administering medications.
• Develops professional relationships with residents and staff; performs other duties as assigned.
