Job summary

Autumn Wind Community Healthcare, LLC is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to assist in the administration of medications to residents under the direction of nursing leadership, following established policies and state requirements.

The role emphasizes accuracy, charting, reporting medication errors, and collaboration with nurses, the Medical Director, pharmacists, and other staff to ensure safe medication practices and quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent.
• Licensed Medication Aide per state requirements.
• Ability to follow facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs to determine medication errors and prevention.
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing forms, charts, reports, etc.
• Maintain a collaborative relationship with nursing staff, physicians, Medical Director and pharmacists.
• Report residents' complaints to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in facility surveys and Quality Assurance programs.
• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document medications as ordered.
• Verify resident identity before administering medication.
• Document vital signs as required.
• Follow charting and labeling policies.
