Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent.
• Licensed Medication Aide with state requirements.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general guidance and policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies governing medication administration to residents.
• Note and report medication errors and participate in QA programs.
• Assist in developing procedures to prevent medication errors and forbed practices.
• Complete required forms, charts, and reports.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Document and report any resident complaints to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in facility surveys and safety/quality activities.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications accurately and safely.
• Verify resident identity before administering medications.
• Record vital signs and medication administration accordingly.
• Follow labeling, charting, and drug receipt procedures.
• Cooperate with inter-departmental staff to maintain nursing services.
