Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Medication Aide to administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy, and to support the nursing department for overall well-being.

Experience in long-term care is preferred. Must hold a current Medication Aide Certification and CPR/First Aid. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. Full‑time opportunities are available at our Tyler, TX community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
• Current Medication Aide Certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification current.
• Attends in-service training as assigned and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred.
• Demonstrates abilities to work as a team.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
• Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications to residents per state regulations and Primrose policy.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities and meal services as assigned.
• Collaborate with nursing and other departments to support resident well-being and efficient operations.
• Support families and residents with care coordination and communication as needed.
